Last night at music in the park, it seems I was going with a lemon theme.  We had lemon drop jello shots, as well as Giada"s Angel food cake cupcakes, filled with lemon curd and mascapone frosting. I do add a slight bit of fresh thyme to these.

Lemon Drop Jello Shots

1 cup boiling water

3/4 cup vodka

1/4 cup lemonchiello

squirt of fresh lemon.

I also rubbed lemon on the rim of the cup  and dipped in sugar...YUMMY!

My latest creation, although I am sure some of you have already figured this out. Margarita Jell-O shots!

1 pkt.Knox gelatin, dissolved in a 1/4 c cold water
3/4 c.tres agave margarita mix. Combine and boil together. Cool completely.

3/4 c tequila
1/4 c. lime juice mix with cooled gelatin mixture
But rim of shot cup with lime and dip in salt, garnish with a small lime wedge

Family, Friends & Food

So one of the highlights of our summer is Music in the Park.  This happens on Thursday evenings in the park, down the street from our house.  It runs for 8-10 weeks and features local bands. My husband absolutely LOVES it.  It is the only time of year he actually leaves work early to set up our chairs, so as all of our children and family and friends have a spot to sit.  Everyone brings snacks, and wine.  We dance it only lasts a couple of hours, but it is great fun.

I will be featuring in this section some of the foods, I bring.
