EASTER, is probably my most favorite times of year. It was always so special. As a little girl, I remember my mom always buying me a new outfit, special for Easter Sunday. Hat, gloves, shoes, socks, slip....even new underwear. So fun and exciting.
My mother would start baking for Easter brunch starting on Wednesday...Raisin bread, probably at least 8 loaves. Thursday was sweet bread, Friday color Easter eggs. Saturday morning would be Easter pizza (Pizza Rustica) we called it Easter pizza,,,sweet dough with sausage, eggs, basket cheese and lots of romano cheese. Then she would make Filarum, which is an Italian turnover, made only at Easter time. Small turnovers, again sweet dough and lots of cheese filling. When I make them next weekend i will post pictures.
I miss my mom and dad alot at this holiday time. I am very happy my children enjoy our Easter Brunch and all of the traditions being passed down to them and my grandchildren.
STAY TUNED!!!!! for pics
